Objective: To determine the association between family support and glycemic control among patients with type 2 diabetesmellitus who attend outpatient endocrinology office of Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo.Materials methods: A quantitative, observational cross-sectional study was carried out. The sample consisted of158 diabetic subjects over 18 years age whose glycosylated hemoglobin obtained at time consultationusing Epi Info version 7.9.2 software, a 95 % confidence level, 5 accuracy 12.11 expected frequency.A non-probability convenience sampling used. data collection sheet employed to register patients’sociodemographic, clinical social environment data, as well Family Adaptability Cohesion Evaluation ScaleIII (FACES III) support. chi-square test used familysupport control.
